RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University softball team welcomes in ASUN preseason favorite Liberty University to Gertrude Hood Field this weekend for a three-game series.

The Colonels open the series against the Flames on Saturday with first pitch scheduled for 2 p.m. Game two of the doubleheader will follow 30 minutes after the conclusion of game one. The series wraps up on Sunday at 12 p.m.

- Liberty comes into the weekend at 14-12 on the season after falling to North Carolina, 3-2, in the midweek.

-Devyn Howard leads the way offensively for the Flames with a team-best .380 batting average. Howard has six doubles, four home runs and 16 RBIs on the season.

-Karlie Keeney leads the way in the circle for Liberty. Keeney is 8-6 on the year with a 2.52 ERA. She has eight complete games in the circle on the year and has thrown a team-high 83.1 innings.

-EKU comes into the weekend at 4-19 after falling to in-state rival Morehead State, 3-1, on Wednesday at Morehead.

Sammi Miller leads the way offensively for the Colonels with a team-best .371 batting average on the year. Miller has two doubles, one triple, nine RBIs, and a team-best eight stolen bases on the year. Â

Lauren Narvaez has been good in the circle over the last couple of weeks. The freshman is 1-1 on the season with a team-best 2.81 ERA on the year. Â Â
