Ewell And Greico Go Long, But Colonels Beaten In Series Finale

NASHVILLE, Tenn. –
Kendal Ewell and Sebastian Greico hit a pair of ninth inning home runs, but Eastern Kentucky lost to Lipscomb, 7-3, on Sunday in the series finale of a 3-game ASUN Conference series.
 
The Bisons (18-14, 7-5 ASUN) scored five runs combined in the first two innings.  Mason Lundgrin's 2-out, 2-run double highlighted a 3-run second and put the home team on top 5-0.
 
Ike Buxton (4-2) pitched six shutout innings for Lipscomb.  He walked six and struck out five while allowing only two hits.
 
Ewell hit his sixth home run of the season in the top of the ninth to break up the shutout.  He finished 2-for-4 with a walk, a run and an RBI.  Two batters later, Greico sent a 2-1 pitch over the wall in left with a runner on.
 
The Colonels (21-11, 8-4 ASUN) had 11 total walks.  Jalen Jones and Max Williams both had two.
 
Lundgrin finished 2-for-4 with a walk, a run and two driven in.
 
Eastern Kentucky will host Central Arkansas for a 3-game series starting Thursday at Earle Combs Stadium.  First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m.  Baseball tickets can be purchased at EKUSports.com/2022BaseballTix or call 844-3-GOBIGE.
