JACKSONVILLE, Ala. – The Eastern Kentucky University softball team fell in the series finale to Jacksonville State, 1-0, on Sunday afternoon.
 
Jacksonville State walked it off in the bottom of the seventh with a wild pitch to score the winning run from third base.
 
The Colonels threatened in the top of the second. 
Isabella Gonzalez got things started with a double into right center field. 
Jeanay Riley followed with a double off the wall to put runners on second and third with no one out. After 
Carly Robinson worked a walk to load the bases, a strikeout and double play ended the EKU threat.
 
EKU had a chance in the top of the seventh to take the lead with two runners on and one out, but a strikeout and a pop out ended the inning for the Colonels.
 
Freshman 
Lauren Narvaez was stellar in the circle tossing six and two-third innings allowing only one run.
 
Gonzalez and Riley had the two hits for EKU.
 
EKU returns home on Wednesday for a mid-week game against in-state rival Western Kentucky. First-pitch against the Hilltoppers is scheduled for 6 p.m.
