RICHMOND, Ky. – 
The Eastern Kentucky University softball team returns home for a midweek tilt against Miami (OH) on Wednesday at Gertrude Hood Field.
 
First pitch against the RedHawks is scheduled for 6 p.m.

It is Bark in the Park & Rescheduled Youth Sports Night. EKU dog bandana giveaway, drawstring bag giveaway, free entry for kids 12 and under, and a post-game autograph session.

Inside the Series                                                                                                                   
- Miami comes into the week at 28-13 and 17-3 in the MAC after winning the series over California out of the PAC 12 last weekend.
 
-Miami leads the all-time series between the two teams, 11-7. The RedHawks won last year in Oxford.
 
-The RedHawks are led offensively by Karli Spaid who is hitting .425, with five doubles, two triples, 20 home runs, and 47 RBIs on the season. Spaid is third in the country in home runs on the year.   
 
-Courtney Vierstra leads the way in the circle for Miami. Vierstra is 14-8 on the season with a 2.91 ERA. She has 148 strikeouts over 142 and one-third innings.  
 
What EKU Brings:
-EKU comes into the weekend at 10-32 and 6-12 in the ASUN after sweeping in-state foe Bellarmine over the weekend in Louisville.
 
-Sammi Miller leads the way offensively for the Colonels with a team-best .325 batting average on the year. Miller has three doubles, one triple, one home run, 12 RBIs, and a team-best 16 stolen bases on the year.  
 
-Lou Bowers was on a tear last week at the plate. Bowers went 8-for-12 with three doubles, one home run, and six RBIs over the four games.
 
-Lauren Narvaez comes into the weekend at 4-5 on the season with a team-best 2.97 ERA. Narvaez is second on the team with 87 and one-third innings pitched.
