RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University softball team fell in the midweek tilt against Miami (OH), 11-1, on Wednesday night in Richmond.

Karli Spaid got things started for the RedHawks with a lead off walk in the top of the fourth. After a groundout advanced Spaid t second base, Holly Blaska brought her home with an RBI single to right field to give the RedHawks the early lead, 1-0.

The Colonels quickly answered back in the bottom of the fourth on a solo home run by
Sammi Miller to center field to tie the game, 1-1. Â Â

Miami (OH) pushed six across in the top of the fifth on a pair of two-run home runs to retake the lead over the Colonels.

Miller went 1-for-3 with one home run.
Mattira Morales went 1-for-2 with one double.
