EKU Softball Hits The Road For An Important ASUN Series Against Lipscomb

RICHMOND, Ky. –
 The Eastern Kentucky University softball team hits the road this weekend for an important three-game series against ASUN foe Lipscomb.
 
The two teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday, followed by a single game on Sunday. First game on Saturday starts at 5 p.m. with game two starting 30 minutes after the conclusion of game one. The series finale on Sunday starts at 2 p.m.

Inside the Series                                                                                                                   
- Lipscomb comes into the weekend at 17-28 and 7-11 in the ASUN, and one game in front of the Colonels in the West Division standings.
 
-Lipscomb leads the all-time series between the two teams, 5-3. The two teams have not met since 2017.
 
-The Bisons are led offensively by Amy Vetula who has a team-best .341 batting average on the season. Vetula has seven doubles, two triples, 13 RBIs, and a team-best six steals on the year.   
 
-Courtney Kate Peters leads the way in the circle for Lipscomb. Peters is 8-7 on the season with a 3.59 ERA. She has 32 strikeouts over 87 and third-third innings.  
 
What EKU Brings:
-EKU comes into the weekend at 10-33 and 6-12 in the ASUN after falling to Miami (OH) in the midweek on Wednesday night.
 
-Sammi Miller leads the way offensively for the Colonels with a team-best .325 batting average on the year. Miller has three doubles, one triple, two home runs, 13 RBIs, and a team-best 16 stolen bases on the year.  
 
-Lou Bowers was on a tear last week at the plate. Bowers went 8-for-12 with three doubles, one home run, and six RBIs over the four games.
 
-Lauren Narvaez comes into the weekend at 4-6 on the season with a team-best 3.41 ERA. Narvaez is second on the team with 94 and one-third innings pitched.
