RICHMOND, Ky. – EKU Athletics has announced additional details surrounding the football team's annual Maroon & White Spring Game on Saturday, April 30th, at Roy Kidd Stadium.
Tailgating for the Spring Game will be open as normal on Saturday, April 30th beginning at 10:00 a.m. Students can reserve tailgate spots as they normally would through conferencing and events one week prior to the event. Colonel Club members and fans will be open to tailgate and park in the Alumni Coliseum lot or the Moberly lot. EKU and the city of Richmond have partnered to host a Town and Gown Tailgate within the Colonel Courtyard space located between the Alumni Coliseum lots and Roy Kidd Stadium. Food trucks and fun activities will be open to the public beginning at 11:00 a.m.
Admission to the game is free and kickoff is slated for 3:00 p.m. The Colonels will be split into two teams and will play four 12-minute quarters. The clock will run continuously in the second half.
The new Colonel Kids Zone, which was introduced in 2021, will be open inside Roy Kidd Stadium during the game. Be sure to sign up for the Colonel Kids Club while attending the game. For more information on the Colonel Kids Club, visit this link.
EKU will host its inaugural Suits for Seniors social on Friday evening at 6:00 p.m. The event will feature dinner, a silent auction, a 10K reverse raffle, and comments from head coach Walt Wells. Tickets for the event may be purchased here.
Prior to the Maroon & White Game on Saturday, EKU will hold an Alumni Game on the field at 2:00 p.m. Former EKU football players interested in participating can register to play here. Pregame stretching will begin at 1:45 p.m.
RV spots are available to reserve through the EKU Ticket Office by calling 859-622-2122 or emailing Raymond White at raymond.white@eku.edu. You may also use this link to reserve online. There will be no charge for RV spots for the Spring Game, but a reservation is necessary. If your set up requires power, we advise that you bring a generator for power.
The 2022 Spring Game weekend also coincides with the Installation of University President, Dr. David McFaddin. Information regarding the President's Installation can be found here: eku.edu/installation.
In addition, the EKU Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) will be hosting a Color Fun Run at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Registration for the event is now open and will close on Monday, April 25th. Shirts will be provided for those who register before April 25th. Please use this link to register online.
To close out Saturday, EKU Center for the Arts will be hosting a concert featuring JP Saxe at 7:30 p.m. The event is open to the public and tickets can be purchased here.
