EKU Softball Hits The Road For Important Series At Jacksonville State

RICHMOND, Ky. –
 The Eastern Kentucky University softball team hits the road for a three-game series against Jacksonville State this weekend.
 
The Colonels open the series against the Gamecocks on Saturday with a doubleheader. The first game against JSU is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Saturday with game two following about 30 minutes after the conclusion of game one. The series finale against Jacksonville State is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Sunday.

- Jacksonville State comes into the weekend at 20-15 and 4-5 in the ASUN after taking one-of-three against Florida Gulf Coast last weekend. The Gamecocks are one game ahead of the Colonels in the standings.
 
-JSU leads the all-time series between the two squads, 40-14.
 
-Megan Fortner leads the way offensively for the Gamecocks with a team-high .356 batting average on the season. Fortner has a team-high 14 doubles, one triple, four home runs and 23 RBIs on the year.
 
-In the circle for the Gamecocks, Kat Carter leads the way with a 10-8 record on the season. Carter has thrown a team-best 125 innings with 74 strikeouts. She has a 3.02 ERA so far this year.
 
What EKU Brings:
-EKU comes into the weekend at 7-25 and 3-6 in the ASUN after taking two-of-three against Stetson at home last weekend.
 
-Sammi Miller leads the way offensively for the Colonels with a team-best .379 batting average on the year. Miller has three doubles, one triple, one home run, 12 RBIs, and a team-best 14 stolen bases on the year.  
 
-Carly Robinson was named ASUN Player of the Week after hitting .500 with three home runs and eight RBIs over the weekend against the Hatters.
 
-Lauren Narvaez comes into the weekend at 3-3 on the season with a team-best 2.82 ERA. Narvaez has 20 strikeouts over 57 innings.
