JACKSONVILLE, Ala. – The Eastern Kentucky University softball team fell in a pair of contests to Jacksonville State University on Saturday afternoon in Jacksonville.
 
EKU fell in game one to the Gamecocks, 6-0, before falling in game two 7-0.
 
Jacksonville State got three in the bottom of the first after the first four batters reached on an error and three straight hits.
 
The Gamecocks got three more to extend their lead in the bottom of the third. Camryn McLemore brought home the first run of the inning with a double down the right field line. Brantly Bonds brought home two more with a two RBI single up the middle to give JSU a 6-0 lead.
 
Eastern Kentucky threatened in the top of the seventh with a pair of hits by 
Carly Robinson and 
Vianna Barron but couldn't push anything across.
 
The Colonels had three hits on the game.

In game two, the Gamecocks scored seven runs in the bottom of the first inning and never looked back against the Colonels.
 
Maggie Pertee had the lone hit for the Colonels.
 
Lauren Narvaez tossed five and two-third innings in relief allowing two runs and striking out one.
 
EKU wraps up the series on Sunday against the Gamecocks. First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m.
