RICHMOND, Ky. – Eastern Kentucky won one game and lost another to visiting Lipscomb on Sunday at Earle Combs Stadium.
EKU finished game two of the series, that began on Saturday before being suspended by poor weather, with a 4-0 victory. The Bisons won the final game of the series 7-4 in seven innings.

The Colonels (33-17, 18-9 ASUN) remained in first place in the ASUN Conference West Division with three league games remaining. Eastern Kentucky has a one game lead over Central Arkansas (23-26, 17-10) and Lipscomb (31-20, 17-10 ASUN).

EKU's 33 wins are the most in a season since the 2004 squad won 34.

The two teams resumed game two of the series with Eastern Kentucky leading 3-0 at the start of the top of the second.Â
Charlie Ludwick had hit a 3-run home run before the game was suspended on Saturday. Neither team scored until the seventh inning when
Kendal Ewell hit his 14th home run of the season, a solo shot over the wall in right center.

Michael Schuler began the day on the mound for the Colonels after
Rian Yates started and pitched one inning on Saturday. Schuler (5-2) finished the game, holding Lipscomb to two hits over eight innings. He walked two and struck out four.

Ludwick finished 1-for-2 with a walk, a run and three RBIs. Ewell was 2-for-4 with two runs and an RBI.

In the final game of the series, Lipscomb scored in each of the first four innings, including a 3-spot in the fourth to make it 7-0. Mason Lundgrin had a 2-run single in the big fourth inning and later scored on a single by Rudy Maxwell.

EKU got on the board with four runs in the bottom of the fifth.Â
Logan Thomason had a sacrifice fly and
Will King registered a RBI double.

Jalen Jones had two hits in three at bats with a run scored for the Colonels. King went 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI.

Maxwell finished 3-for-4 with a run and two driven in for Lipscomb. Lundgrin was 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs.

The Colonels will play at No. 6 Louisville on Tuesday at 6 p.m. before concluding the regular season with at three-game set at Central Arkansas starting Thursday.
