RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University softball team wraps up the regular season with a three-game series against the University of North Alabama starting on Thursday. Â

The two teams were originally scheduled to play a doubleheader on Friday and one game Saturday, but with the expected weather coming into the area the series has been moved up a day. The two teams will square off with a doubleheader starting on Thursday with first pitch at noon. Game two will start approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of game one. The series finale will be Friday morning at 11 a.m. Senior Day festivities will be after the series finale on Friday.

The Colonels need one win or one Lipscomb loss to lock in as the four seed in the West Division. With a three-game sweep the Colonels move up to the number three seed in the West.

- North Alabama comes into the weekend at 34-16 and 12-9 in the ASUN, three-games ahead of the Colonels in the West Division standings. Â

-The two teams met earlier this season in a non-conference game in which North Alabama won, 8-2. It is the only meeting ever between the two teams. Â

-The Lions are led offensively by Emma Broadfoot who has a team-best .366 batting average on the season. Broadfoot has 13 doubles, five home runs, 44 RBIs, and a team-best 27 walks on the year. Â Â

-Maci Birdyshaw leads the way in the circle for North Alabama. Birdyshaw is 16-3 on the season with a 3.05 ERA. She has 128 strikeouts over 128 and one-third innings. Â

-EKU comes into the weekend at 13-33 and 9-12 in the ASUN and winners of six straight ASUN games after sweeping Lipscomb over the weekend.

Sammi Miller leads the way offensively for the Colonels with a team-best .344 batting average on the year. Miller has five doubles, one triple, two home runs, 14 RBIs, and a team-best 20 stolen bases on the year. Â

Jasmine Miller was named ASUN Player of the Week last week after hitting .545 with two home runs and six RBIs in the four games. Miller hit .667 in the three-game series against Lipscomb.

Lauren Narvaez comes into the weekend at 7-6 on the season with a team-best 2.97 ERA. Narvaez was lights out over the weekend in the three-game series against Lipscomb going, 3-0, with a 0.43 ERA, in 16 and one-third innings pitched.
