RICHMOND, Ky. – EKU football announced kickoff times and themes for its six home games today.
The Colonels open the 2022 home slate on Sept. 17 against Charleston Southern at 6:00 p.m. at Roy Kidd Stadium. EKU will honor its tremendous educators with the "Extra Yard 4 Teachers" game and will host "Youth Sports Night" as well. EKU has never faced the Buccaneers and will be hosting an opponent from South Carolina for the first time since Coastal Carolina visited Richmond in 2013.
EKU will host Family Weekend and Hall of Fame Weekend on Oct. 1 as Eastern faces Southern Utah at 6:00 p.m. The game will mark the first-ever meeting between the Colonels and the Thunderbirds.
Sam Houston visits Richmond for a rematch of last year's November showdown on Oct. 15 for another 6:00 p.m. kickoff. EKU will be celebrating its annual "Pink Game."
The Colonels will celebrate Homecoming on Oct. 22 against North Alabama at 3:00 p.m. The game against the Lions will be EKU's first ASUN conference contest in program history.
Eastern Kentucky will celebrate the armed forces on Military Appreciation Day on Nov. 5 against Central Arkansas. The Colonels and Bears have met three times in the last two seasons, with the contests being decided by a combined 18 points. Kickoff is slated for 5:00 p.m.
The home schedule concludes on Nov. 19 with Senior Day and Band Day against Kennesaw State at 3:00 p.m.
Additionally, four of EKU's road game times have been announced. The Colonels will visit Eastern Michigan on Sept. 2 at 7:00 p.m. and will travel to Bowling Green on Sept. 10 for a 4:00 p.m. kickoff. EKU will also face Southeast Missouri on Oct. 29 at 2:00 p.m. and Jacksonville State on Nov. 12 at 2:00 p.m.
