RICHMOND, Ky. – Seven of EKU's sports concluded the academic year by earning perfect Academic Progress Rate (APR) scores for 2020-21, while one earned a perfect multi-year rate, according to the NCAA.
APR provides a real-time look at a team's academic success each semester by tracking the academic progress of each student-athlete on scholarship. The APR accounts for eligibility, retention and graduation and provides a measure of each team's academic performance.
Men's and women's basketball, beach volleyball, men's cross country, women's golf, softball, and men's track each recorded perfect 1,000 scores for 2020-21.
Additionally, women's golf tallied a perfect 1,000 multi-year APR score.
This multi-year report is based on data submitted by every NCAA Division I institution for the 2017-18, 2018-19, 2019-20 and 2020-21 academic years. For the purpose of APR reporting, indoor and outdoor track & field is combined into one sport.
Four of EKU's sports had multi-year APR scores that ranked among the top four in the ASUN – women's cross country (2nd) men's cross country (3rd), men's track (3rd), and softball (3rd),
The multi-year APR score for women's golf tied for the highest among all Division I institutions in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Women's golf, men's cross country, men's track, and softball each ranked in the top-3 in the Commonwealth of their respective sports.
