CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – Eastern Kentucky soccer (0-1-0) hits the road this weekend for its first away match of the season, as the Colonels will take on Chattanooga (0-1-0) at the UTC Sports Complex on Sunday, Aug. 21, at 1 p.m. ET.

Both teams in tomorrow's contest fell in their season opener, EKU surged in the second half against Northern Illinois, but were unable to overcome the 2-1 deficit. Chattanooga opened their season against UAB on the road, dropping a close 1-0 result in Birmingham decided by a penalty kick.
The Colonels were led by senior
Myla Sharpless in the first match of the 2022 campaign, the Pittsburgh native attempted two shots on frame and netted the first goal of the season for EKU (51').

Katie Wall and sophomore
Gretta Gunn boasted the EKU attack by attempting a shot on target against the Huskies in the second half.
Fifth Year
Baylee Lanter gave the Colonels 82 minutes of action against NIU, the most of any EKU player besides the keeper. The Lexington, Ky. product has logged over 3,543 minutes in the maroon and white, Sunday's match will be her 59th game played in her career.
Graduate Transfer
Lauren Seedlock made her EKU debut against NIU, in 90 minutes she recorded three saves while facing nine shots.

Nerea de Diego are coming off a stellar season where they combined for six goals, six assists, and 26 shots on frame.

All-time vs. Chattanooga
- Sunday's match is the seventh meeting between EKU and UTC, the series is leveled at 2-2-2 dating back to the first contest in 2006.
- Chattanooga claimed the last matchup of the series, defeating EKU by a result of 1-0 in Richmond.
- EKU is 1-1-1 all-time when playing UTC in true-road contests.
Scouting the Mocs
- UTC is led by head coach Gavin McKinney, who is in his eighth season at the helm and has compiled 45 wins at the DI level.
- Against UAB, Chattanooga attempted four shots, two of those on target.
- The Mocs are led by Maggie Shaw, who was named the 2020 SoCon Defensive Player of the Year and Mackenzie Smith, who was the leading scorer on last year's squad.
