With the first set tied 10-10, the Colonels used a 9-3 run to take control.  Kills by Mitchell and AG Vandagriff, sandwiched around an APSU error, capped the run and put the home team in front by six, 19-13.  Freshman Carson Ledford polished off the seven-point first set victory with a kill.

Mason's ace in the second set that gave Eastern Kentucky a 13-8 advantage was the 100th of her career.  After the Governors closed to within one, 15-14, the Colonels scored five of the next six to ease out in front by five, 20-15.  Mason closed the second set win with two straight aces.

The transfer from Indiana State began the third set with two straight aces to help EKU jump out to an 11-5 lead.  Eastern Kentucky still led by six, 13-7, after an ace from Mitchell, but Austin Peay answered with a 7-1 run to knot the score at 14-14.  Seyring's kill and a Colonel error capped the run.

APSU went ahead by three, 22-19, on another EKU error and took set-point, 24-22, on a kill from Maggie Keenan.  Back-to-back kills from Michalak and an ace from Kali Walker allowed Eastern Kentucky to swing set-point to its favor at 25-24.  EKU fought off another Governor set-point at 26-25.  With the set tied for the ninth and final time at 27-27, two straight errors by Austin Peay ended the match.
