RICHMOND, Ky. – Gracie Frazier, a former outfielder on the EKU softball team, earned a nomination for 2022 NCAA Woman of the Year for her performance on an off the field.

Frazier held a 4.0 cumulative GPA as an Exercise and Sport Science major and was the president of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. As SAAC president, Frazier ran SAAC's social media, worked with the SAAC staff representative to coordinate meetings and create events, sat in on athletic department staff meetings, planned the SAAC Easter Egg Hunt for the Richmond community, coordinated SAAC's student tailgates, and worked extensively on Operation Christmas Child to help gather donations for families in need during the holidays and helped run the "Jock 'N' Roll" talent show that raised money to send a U.S. Military veteran and their family to the OVC Tournament. She also helped EKU Veteran Affairs run its 3-on-3 basketball tournament in conjunction with SAAC.

The Moultrie, Ga., native was also involved with campus FCA, working as a member of the Leadership team and hosting the weekly "Huddle Meeting". Frazier also led a weekly bible study during her senior season. She also served as a mentor for female student-athletes throughout the athletic department.

Frazier was a three-time OVC Academic Medal of Honor Student and a four-time Colonel Scholar. She was presented with the 2022 "I Am EKU" Award.

A total of 577 graduating student-athletes have been nominated nationally for the NCAA Woman of the Year Award. As 2022 marks the 50th anniversary of Title IX, the NCAA Woman of the Year program is an important opportunity to honor and reflect on the impact of women on intercollegiate sports.

The Woman of the Year Selection Committee will select 10 student-athletes from each division, determining the Top 30 honorees. Of the Top 30, the Woman of the Year Selection Committee will announce nine finalists, three from each NCAA division. The NCAA Committee on Women's Athletics will review the finalists and name the 2022 NCAA Woman of the Year.
