RICHMOND, Ky. – EKU will participate in the College Football Playoff Foundation's Extra Yard for Teachers Campaign during the week of Sept. 11-17.

CFP's Extra Yard for Teachers campaign elevates the teaching profession by inspiring and empowering teachers through the implementation of programs in four focus areas: resources, recognition, recruitment and professional development. EKU will present a local teacher with a $1,000 gift on Sept. 17.

During EKU's home football opener against Charleston Southern on Sept. 17, the Colonels will wear special Extra Yard for Teachers helmet stickers and honor the University's College of Education and Applied Human Sciences.

In addition to the Extra Yard for Teachers initiative, EKU will also host it's Education and Youth Sports Night. EKU will honor and show it's appreciation to educators and education locally and across the bluegrass state. All educators can use this link to redeem two free tickets with additional tickets available at a discounted rate. Additionally, EKU will welcome youth with its annual Youth Sports Night.
