CHARLESTON, S.C. – EKU quarterback Parker McKinney is one of the 38 players on the College Football Performance Awards (CFPA) 2022 Preseason Watch List for the CFPA Football Championship Subdivision National Performer of the Year Trophy, the organization announced on Tuesday.

McKinney is one of four ASUN players who were named to the list.

A native of Coalfield, Tenn., McKinney currently ranks second on EKU's career passing yardage and completions lists. The redshirt junior was named to the Walter Payton Award Watch List and the Phil Steele Preseason All-ASUN Second Team prior to the 2022 season. An all-ASUN performer last season, McKinney accounted for 400 total yards and four touchdowns in the season opener at Eastern Michigan on Friday night. His 351 passing yards marked the second-highest total of his career and his 35 pass completions were the most of any FCS quarterback so far this year.

This year's CFPA FCS National Performer of the Year will be announced January 13, 2023. All FCS players are eligible for the award.
