RICHMOND, Ky. – For the third time in as many seasons as a member of the Atlantic Sun Conference, the Eastern Kentucky University soccer team clinched a berth to the conference tournament with a 1-1 draw against Florida Gulf Coast (9-5-4, 6-1-3 ASUN) on Sunday afternoon at the EKU Soccer Field.
With the draw, EKU (4-8-5, 3-3-4 ASUN) moves to 13 points in the table with one regular season match remaining.
Having clinched, EKU has locked in a 5-8 seed for the ASUN Tournament and will be on the road to open play on Thursday, Oct. 26 at a to be determined site.
Freshman midfielder
Rachel Robinson scored an un-stoppable shot in the 38th minute of Sunday's affair to equalize the match. The goal was the first of her collegiate career.

Mackenzie Burdick, and
Kaitlyn Andrews logged a team-leading two shots in the contest.
Keeper
Marah Krick recorded a season-high five saves for the third time this season, moving her season total to 48.
Throughout the first 20 minutes of action on Sunday, EKU matched FGCU shot-to-shot, Krick recorded her first save in the 18th minute catching a rocket from Erika Zschuppe in the middle of the frame.
Just 10 minutes later, FGCU claimed the one-goal advantage as Katharina Oelschlaeger caught passes from Ashley Labbe and Kendal Gargiula to find netting.
After another 10 minutes of action, EKU equalized the match as Robinson caught an errant clearing attempt by the Eagles' backline and fired a shot from 22 yards out to find the back upper-90 of the frame for the score.
EKU had an opportunity in the 43rd to go up by a goal as the Colonels were rewarded a penalty kick for a FGCU handball in the box. Fitzgerald missed the kick out the top and both teams entered the break at a one-goal standoff.
Out of the pause, the Colonels applied heavy pressure making counters to FGCU's runs. Ransom neared a goal in the 48th sending a chip-shot over Olivia Molina that was one bounce away from going over the line as the Eagle defender cleared the shot, recording a team save.
Burdick hit the woodwork in the 65th minute off a set-piece corner attempt, her second shot of the contest.
Both teams totaled nine shots in the final 25 minutes of action but were unable to capitalize on an opportunity, ending the match at one goal apiece.
FGCU narrowly led Sunday's contest in shots (16-13) and shots on goal (6-4). The Colonels led the match in saves (5-3) and corner attempts (4-2).
EKU returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 21 at 1 p.m. on the road against conference rival Bellarmine at Owsley B. Frazier Stadium in Louisville, its second straight regular season road match against its in-state foe.
