RICHMOND, Ky. – Eastern Kentucky University handed Austin Peay a 3-0 loss on Friday at Baptist Health Arena.

Sophomore
AG Vandagriff led the Colonels (17-6, 7-4 ASUN) with 14 kills. She made just three errors in 24 attempts for a .458 attack percentage and had two blocks.Â
Madi Tolzman had seven kills and one block.Â
Chloe Mason led all players with 19 assists to go along with 12 digs.

EKU scored the first six points of the match on its way to a 25-9 win. The home squad registered 16 kills without an error in the opening frame, out-hitting the Governors .516 to .074.

Austin Peay (10-14, 3-8 ASUN) kept the second set close throughout. Sarah Carnathan tied it up, 23-23, for the Governors with a kill. On the next series,
Katie McKune put down a kill to get EKU within set-point. APSU had an attack error to close out the set 25-23.

After Maggie Keenan tied the third set at 8-8 for the Governors, the Colonels ran off a 10-2 run to put the match away. A kill from
Sarah Mitchell and back-to-back kills from Vandagriff got the run started. Vandagriff's fifth kill of the run and an ace off the serve of
Carson Ledford finished off the match-clinching run and put EKU ahead 18-10. Two straight APSU attack errors ended the set, 25-15, and the match.

The Colonels hit .367 for the match, finishing with 49 kills and only nine errors. The Governors posted a .167 attack percentage, totaling 32 kills and 15 errors. EKU served up eight aces compared to just one for the visitors.
