FLORENCE, Ala. – Coming off 11 points in its last five fixtures, EKU soccer departs for its last two-match road swing of the regular season against North Alabama and Central Arkansas beginning on Thursday at the Bill Jones Athletic Complex.
The Colonels (4-6-3, 3-1-2 ASUN) first matchup against UNA (6-5-3, 3-2-1 ASUN) is scheduled for Thursday at 8 p.m. ET. The match can be viewed on ESPN+.
EKU's road trip finale against UCA (5-6-3, 4-1-1 ASUN) is set for Sunday at 1 p.m. ET at the Bill Stephens Soccer Complex on ESPN+.
This week's road trip sets up matches between EKU and two teams also inside the top six of the league table. Entering the week, Central Arkansas is currently the second-ranked team in the league.
Last match, EKU played Jacksonville to a nil-nil draw having outshot the Dolphins by 21 shots and by 10 corner attempts.
Maia Ransom led the Colonels with a career-high seven shots against JU. Her seven shots were the most by an EKU student-athlete this season.
Through 13 matches, forwards
Jami Anderson and
Ruby Dunlevy lead EKU with two goals on a combined 18 shot attempts.
Forward
Gretta Gunn leads the program with five assists and seven points. The West Chester, Ohio native has recorded at least one assist in two of her last three games.
Kaitlyn Rowlett and
Ciana Miller continue to lead the defensive effort having started in all 13 of the team's matches. Both players have logged 90 minutes in their last seven games.
In EKU's last five games, the Colonels have outpaced their opponents in shots (79-38), shots on goal (29-8) and corner attempts (28-8).
Last season, EKU gained three points against the travel partners in Richmond. EKU is 1-0-1 all-time against North Alabama and 1-1 against Central Arkansas. Thursday's match with UNA is the first meeting between the two programs in Alabama.
