WACO, Texas – For the fifth time in 2023, Eastern Kentucky University offensive lineman
Josiah Ezirim earned All-American status, after being named to the American Football Coaches Association's (AFCA) All-American second-team in a press release Tuesday.
Ezirim's latest honor comes after a standout season for the Colonels in 2023 as he paved the way for the United Athletic Conference's top offense in yards per game.
His play throughout the season earned the Ohio native now five All-American recognitions in total, and the opportunity to play in the East-West Shrine Bowl after declaring for the NFL Draft earlier this offseason.
He is also the only offensive player to earn AFCA All-American status on offense from the UAC.
The AFCA has selected an All-America team since 1945 and currently selects teams in all five of its divisions. What makes these teams so special is that they are the only ones chosen exclusively by the men who know the players the best — the coaches themselves.
