RICHMOND, Ky. – EKU women's basketball looks to continue its seven-game winning streak inside Baptist Health Arena hosting Samford on Friday at 7 p.m. to conclude the 2023-24 non-conference schedule.
Over the past two seasons, EKU owns a 17-3 (.850) record at home and has won five straight to begin the year. In three seasons of the
Greg Todd era, the Colonels have a 27-8 (.771) mark at home.
Fans looking to catch the Colonels one last time in 2023 can purchase tickets for just $5
online here or at the box office. Doors open one hour before tipoff and is "Rewind 2023" night at The Coliseum.
Those unable to make the contest can watch the game on ESPN+ beginning at 7:02 p.m. with Wes Chandler on the call, who will also have the live simulcast on 92.5 WEKY (Richmond area) courtside.
At 10-3 on the season, EKU continues to receive votes (17) in the CollegeInsider.com Women's Mid Major Top 25 poll. The Colonels are one of three teams from the Atlantic Sun Conference programs tabbed to the poll, only behind No. 4 FGCU and 11 votes ahead of Lipscomb.
EKU is one of two schools from the Commonwealth appearing on the poll and is receiving 13 more votes than Murray State.

- EKU is 10-3 for the quickest time since 1994 after overcoming an 18-point deficit against Southeast Missouri on the road last game.
- Graduate guard
Antwainette Walker is slated to be honored pre-game for scoring her 1,00th career point earlier this season in a 30-point home win over Miami (Ohio).
- Walker leads the Colonels and the ASUN Conference averaging 20.7 points per game over 10 games played. She's earned two ASUN Player of the Week honors this season.
- Walker has scored in double-figures in 9-of-10 games this season, including a career-high 38 points in a win over Evansville on the road. She's scored 30 or more points twice in her career.
- Senior forward
Sierra McCullough continues to lead EKU with 9.2 rebounds per game over 10 games played. She leads the ASUN and is top 20 nationally in rebounding.
- With 10 rebounds in a loss to Chattanooga, McCullough has recorded double-digit rebounds in six games this season, including a season-high 16 against NKU.
- EKU currently sits 173rd in the NCAA NET rankings, the highest ranking under Todd.
- EKU leads the ASUN in assist/turnover ratio, assists per game, scoring margin, scoring offense, turnover ratio, turnovers forced per game, and winning percentage.
- Guard
Alice Recanati is top 30 in the NCAA in total assists (64) and is 31 assists from setting the EKU program record in assists.
All-Time vs. Samford
- EKU and Samford meet for the first time since 2008 in Ohio Valley Conference play, the series is tied at six wins apiece.
- EKU last defeated Samford on Jan. 19, 2008, by a score of 72-45 and was led by guard Nicki Avery, who led all scorers with 25 points while shooting 7-of-10 from three.
- The Colonels are 4-1 over the Bulldogs at home.
Scouting the Bulldogs
- Samford is 7-5 to open the season and will have a tour of the Commonwealth before returning home for SoCon play.
- The Bulldogs have lost three of their last four against Alabama, Arkansas, and North Alabama. After facing EKU, Samford will drive 30 minutes north to play Kentucky at the Clive M. Beck Center.
- Samford is 1-1 against ASUN teams this season, with a win over Central Arkansas on Nov. 11.
- Sophomore guard Masyn Marchbanks leads the squad with 10.3 points per game with a season-high 24 points against UCA, she's scored 10 or more points in five of her last seven games.
- Vanderbilt transfer Emily Bowman, standing 6-foot-5, leads the team with 7.8 rebounds per game with a season-high 18 boards in a win over Jacksonville State.
- Last season, Samford finished 13-17 and fell to East Tennessee State by a score of 63-47 in the SoCon Tournament quarterfinals.
