Colonels Continue Home Stand with Simmons College on Monday

EKU Has Won 30 Straight Over Non-DI Since 2004

RICHMOND, Ky. – Fresh off a 75-point win last week, EKU women's basketball continues its three-game home stand with a matchup against Simmons College of Kentucky on Monday, Dec. 4 at Baptist Health Arena.
 
Monday's game is scheduled to tip off at 5 p.m., fans can purchase buy-one-get-one tickets for just $2.50 online here or at the box office.  Monday's game is also "Holiday Hoops" day at the Coliseum, fans can partake in various holiday themed promotional events including an ugly sweater contest at halftime, free hot chocolate, free ornaments, and the final day of the Southeast Kentucky Toys for Tots Drive.
 
Those not able to be in attendance can find the contest streamed live on ESPN+ or over the air on 92.5 WEKY with Wes Chandler on the call.
 
EKU enters Monday's game with a 6-1 record, its best start to a season since 1981.  With Simmons College coming to town, the Colonels are seeking their 30th consecutive win over non-DI opponents since 2004.
 
As of Sunday, EKU is atop the Atlantic Sun Conference standings with its 6-1 record and looks to continue a hot streak with three games this week, including a top 20 game on the road against Tennessee.  EKU also enters the week receiving votes for the CollegeInsider.com Mid Major Top 25 poll.  The Colonels are one of three ASUN programs on the poll, behind FGCU and ahead of Lipscomb.

EKU Notes
- EKU enters the week 17th in the country in total assists and 18th in assist-to-turnover ratio.
- Graduate guard Ivy Turner is fifth in the NCAA in assist-to-turnover ratio (5.14) and has had six games this season with 4+ assists with one-or-less turnovers.
- Antwainette Walker, ASUN's Preseason Player of the Year, is third in the county in points per game (25.3) behind Iowa's Caitlin Clark and USC's JuJu Watkins.
- Walker was named to the 2023 Great Alaska Shootout All-Tournament Team after helping EKU finish runner-up behind No. 4 Utah.  She was named ASUN Player of the Week and to the NCAA March Madness WBB Starting 5 lineup following the two-game performance.
- Walker recorded a career-high 38 points against Evansville and has scored 20-or-more points in her last four games.  She's scored double figures in 34 straight games.
- Forward Sierra McCullough is 19th in the NCAA in rebounds per game (10.4) and has brought down double figure boards in 5-of-7 games.  Including 15-or-more rebounds in two games.

- Saturday's game is the first meeting between EKU and Simmons College.
 
Scouting the Falcons
- Simmons enters Monday's game with a 4-8 overall record and has won two of its last three against Wilberforce and Cumberland University.
