Colonels Win Series Finale Over Bellarmine

RICHMOND, Ky. –
Santiago Peralta had four hits in Eastern Kentucky University's 8-0 victory over Bellarmine on Sunday in the ASUN Conference baseball series finale at Earle Combs Stadium.

EKU scored twice in the bottom of the first and never trailed.  Will King had an RBI single to left and Charlie Ludwick added a sacrifice fly.  A RBI single to right by Conner Davis in the second extended the lead to 3-0.
 
The Colonels put up a four-spot in the sixth, highlighted by a two-run single from Ludwick.
 
Peralta went 4-for-4 and scored a run.  Ludwick finished 1-for-2 with two walks and three RBIs.  Logan Thomason and Davis scored two runs each.
 
Cameron Kalandros started and pitched four shutout innings for EKU (8-11, 1-2 ASUN).  He allowed five hits, walked one and struck out two.  Chase Alderman (1-1), Bryce Travis, Brock Blanton, Anthony Vargas and Luke Reed each pitched one inning of scoreless relief. 
 
Casey Sorg went 2-for-4 for Bellarmine (7-13, 2-1 ASUN).
 
EKU is scheduled to play at Kentucky on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.
