Men’s Tennis Hits The Road To Face Off Against Bellarmine

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The EKU men's tennis team (3-12, 0-3 ASUN) hits the road to face off against Bellarmine (10-7, 2-0 ASUN) on Thursday, March 23 at 2:30 p.m. at the Eddie Weber Tennis Complex.
 
THE COLONELS
  • The Colonels enter the matchup with a 3-12 record, as they look to bounce back from their loss against #66 Liberty.
  • Moritz Mayer leads the Maroon and White in singles play, posting a 7-7 mark from the top two spots in the lineup. He won his singles match in straight sets from the No. 1 spot against Liberty's Rafael Marques da Silva, 7-5, 6-4, who was ranked No. 99 in the country for singles in early February.
  • Kristoffer Stahlbrand and Arthur Bugeaud are the leading pair in doubles, boasting a 5-2 record from the top two spots in the lineup. They beat Liberty's No. 1 pair, 6-4.
  • EKU will compete in the first dual match against Bellarmine in school history, but the Colonels dominated at the Bellarmine Invite in the fall, where Mayer and J.Anurag Reddy won the doubles championship.
  • At the Bellarmine Invite, Mayer won against Kyle Tang and Reddy beat Paul Reynolds in straight sets in singles play.
 
SCOUTING BELLARMINE
  • The Knights enter the match with a 10-7 mark, most recently beating FGCU, 5-2, on March 19.
  • Bellarmine is led by Matthew Nice in singles, boasting an 11-4 record from multiple spots in the lineup.
  • Paul Reynolds and Eli Wood are the leading pair in doubles, posting a 4-1 record.
