3/26/2023 3:16:00 PM

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 KENNESAW, Ga. – The Eastern Kentucky University softball team (15-15, 0-6 ASUN) falls to even on the season after dropping the last two games of the series on Saturday and Sunday to Kennesaw State (12-19, 4-2 ASUN) by scores of 2-1 and 6-4.

With Sunday's result, EKU also falls to 0-6 in ASUN Conference play and has lost its last seven games.

EKU's offense came alive in the latter half of Sunday's loss at KSU. Sophomore Maggie Pertee sent a solo home run to the left field, her fifth of the season.

Two batters later, Vianna Barron sent a 2-run blast to left center, bringing Lou Bowers home, to narrow the gap to 6-3.

Kennesaw State would hold the Colonels at bay in the top of the seventh to keep its 6-3 lead and sweep the series.

EKU used Lauren Narvaez, Emma Bethel, and Brooke Davis in Sunday's contest. Narvaez earned the loss to move to 8-9 on the season.

The Colonels return to action next weekend in its third conference series of the season at North Alabama.
