FLORENCE, Ala. – EKU softball (15-15, 0-6 ASUN) enters week three of ASUN Conference play with a road series against North Alabama (19-8, 1-5 ASUN) on Saturday and Sunday at Hilda B. Anderson Softball Stadium.
EKU and UNA will play a doubleheader on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. ET. The series finale will be on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. ET. All three games this weekend will be available on ESPN+.
The Colonels are coming off two-straight ASUN series sweeps at the hands of Liberty and Kennesaw State. EKU has lost by 2-or-less runs in its last three games.
Senior
Vianna Barron continues to lead the EKU offensive attack heading into week three. Through 30 games, Barron is atop the Colonels' scorebook in batting average (.350), hits (36), and total bases (64).
Senior
Lou Bowers leads the Colonels with seven home runs on the season, her values place her third in the ASUN.
Sophomore
Lauren Narvaez enters week three with 22 appearances in the circle and 16 starts. She has an 8-9 overall record with a 4.40 ERA and a team-leading 41 strikeouts.
Scouting North Alabama
North Alabama sits 19-8 overall and 1-5 in ASUN play. The Lions took series victories over Mississippi Valley State, Western Michigan, Indiana State, and Southern Indiana.
UNA has had a tough ASUN slate to begin conference falling on the wrong end of a sweep at Jacksonville State and dropping 2-of-3 at home against Central Arkansas.
Junior Felicity Frame leads UNA with a .469 BA in 27 starts in the outfield. She has a team-leading 45 hits, which ranks inside the top-15 in the NCAA.
Senior catcher Georgia Land leads the Lions with five home runs on the season.
All three pitchers on the UNA staff have a sub 2.70 earned run average, led by sophomore Elena Escobar with a 5-2 overall record and 1.62 ERA. Maci Birdyshaw (8-3) and Hannah Price (4-3) round out the other two hurlers for the Lions.
