RICHMOND, Ky. – Coming off its best start to a season in two years as a member institution in the ASUN Conference, EKU softball (12-7) hosts its first midweek game of the 2023 season against Western Kentucky (13-6) on Wednesday evening at Gertrude Hood Field.

Wednesday's game is scheduled to start at 5:00 p.m. Tickets are available starting as low as $5 on the Colonels' website. Fans not able to make it out to the ballpark can view the contest on ESPN+.

EKU, who opened a 12-game home stand last weekend going 2-2 in the Colonel Classic, enters Wednesday's game winning five of its last nine games.

Vianna Barron and Maggie Pertee led the Colonels' offensive attack last weekend, getting six and five hits over the four-game stretch, respectively. Both EKU student-athletes had one game going 3-of-4 at the plate.

Freshman Lilly Davis shined for EKU in its lone game against Dayton, going 2-of-3 from the plate with her second collegiate homer and four RBI's.

Jasmine Miller, Lou Bowers, and Pertee also hit long balls in the Colonel Classic.

EKU can even the all-time series on Wednesday against its regional rival WKU, who leads the series 13-12. The Colonels claimed the last meeting, 1-0, in Bowling Green over the Hilltoppers who were receiving top-25 votes.
