RICHMOND, Ky. – Eastern Kentucky University took a 5-3 lead into the eighth inning, but Cincinnati staged a late rally to earn a 10-5 win.

Michael Goehrig broke a scoreless tie in the bottom of the second inning. With
Max Williams on first, Goehrig sent his first home run of the season over the wall in left field. A pair of ground outs in the bottom of the third allowed
Miguel Larreal and
Conner Davis to score and make it 4-0.

The Bearcats (7-6) ate into the EKU lead in the top of the fourth. A single from Lauden Brooks plated the first run. Cincinnati pushed across two more on a throwing error and a sacrifice bunt to draw within 4-3.

Ron Franklin Jr.'s single to left center in the sixth brought home Williams and put the home team in front 5-3.

Cincinnati rallied with seven runs in the eighth. Kerrington Cross started the inning with a home run. A double from Alec Jones brought in two more to complete the comeback and stake the Bearcats to a 6-5 advantage.

Williams scored two runs for the Colonels (4-9).Â
Logan Thomason drew three walks. Goehrig finished 1-for-2 with a run and two RBIs.

Jones finished 2-for-5 with two runs and two RBIs for Cincinnati.

EKU is set to host Presbyterian College for a three-game series this weekend. Friday's opener is slated to begin at 4 p.m.
