RICHMOND, Ky. – Eastern Kentucky University built leads of 5-0 and 8-3, but couldn't hold off a comeback by North Florida in a 19-11 loss on Saturday in game two of the weekend series at Earle Combs Stadium.

The two teams completed game one of the series before starting game two on Saturday. The Colonels scored eight runs in the bottom of the eighth inning of game one for a comeback of their own, winning 15-13.Â

EKU started the second game with five runs in the bottom of the first, giving the team 13 runs scored in back-to-back innings. After hitting two home runs in the final inning of game one, the Colonels hit three more in the first inning of the second game.

DJ Sullivan started it with a solo shot with one out. With two on,
Roderick Criss II hit a three-run home run. With two outs later in the inning,
Matthew Corlew hit his first as a Colonel, a solo dinger that made it 5-0.

A three-run home run from
Jalen Jones in the bottom of the fourth pushed the margin back to a five-run lead for EKU, 8-3.

The Ospreys (15-12, 4-4 ASUN) rallied in the top of the fifth inning with seven runs. With two outs and three runs already in, Austin Brinling hit a grand slam to turn an 8-6 deficit into a 10-8 lead.

Jakob Runnels hit a grand slam in a 7-run sixth inning as UNF pulled away. Fletcher Cline hit a two-run home run in the top of the seventh. It was UNF's fifth home run of the game.

Will King kept the game from ending by run-rule in the seventh by hitting a two-run home run over the wall in right. It was his fifth of the season and the fifth by the Colonels. King had a 2-for-2 day with three walks, three runs and two RBIs.
Pinch hitter
Max Williams hit the sixth home run of the game for EKU in the bottom of the ninth.

Brinling finished 2-for-4 with two walks, two runs and five RBIs. Runnels was 2-for-5 with two runs and four RBIs.Â

Logan Thomason had two hits for the Colonels (11-16, 2-6 ASUN). Jones went 1-for-4 with a run and three RBIs.

The series finale is set for Sunday at 11 a.m. and will air live on ESPN+. Sunday will be Kids Day. All kids 12 and under receive FREE admission and get to run the bases after the game. There will also be an Easter Egg Hunt after the game on the field for the kids.
