RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University softball team (21-19, 5-10 ASUN) is set to begin a five-game home stand, starting with a doubleheader against in-state Morehead State (11-19, 6-9 OVC) on Wednesday at Gertrude Hood Field.

Wednesday's contests are scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m. ET, the latter game of the doubleheader will begin 30 minutes after the first game. Tickets to see the rivalry start as low as $5 on the Colonels' website.

EKU is coming off an away ASUN Conference series at FGCU which saw the team claim one game on Saturday, dropping the other two contests in close fashion.

As EKU enters the back-half of its ASUN schedule, senior Vianna Barron continues to lead the Colonels with a .361 batting average in 133 at bats. The Elk Grove, Calif. product has started in all 40 of EKU's games and has a team-leading 48 hits and 11 doubles.

Sophomore Maggie Pertee and junior Jeanay Riley also sport .300 batting averages and have combined for 80 hits and nine homers.

With a home run in Sunday's 5-3 loss to FGCU, senior Lou Bowers extended her team-leading value in homers to nine, third most amongst ASUN student-athletes.

Freshman Brooke Davis earned EKU's lone victory in Saturday's 6-2 win against the Eagles, tossing five innings with one strikeout. She leads the Colonels with a 3.60 earned run average and improved to 6-4 on the season from the circle.

EKU looks to avenge a 3-1 loss against Morehead State last season on the road in the last meeting between the two programs.
