ATLANTA – EKU men's golfer Justin Begley has been named to the ASUN Conference All-Freshman Team, announced by the league office from its headquarters on Monday afternoon.
 
Monday's honor is EKU's 13th selection to an all-freshman or all-newcomer team in program history and the first postseason honor since moving to the ASUN.
 
Begley, a freshman from Manchester, Ky., is one of seven freshmen from the ASUN to be selected to the team after leading EKU with a team-high 27 rounds played and had seven rounds at or below par. 
 
In 27 rounds, Begley ended the regular season with a 74.8 par average on 2,020 strokes. Twice this season he finished inside the top 15 individually with a season-high T8th placement at the Daytona Beach Spring Invitational, shooting a three-round total of 218 for the third time during 2022-23.
 
Begley achieved EKU's team individual-low round of 67 in the first round of the Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational, helping the Colonels to their highest finish of the season.
 
Begley looks to continue his momentum this week at the 2023 ASUN Men's Golf Championship from April 25-26 in Mobile, Ala. at RTJ Magnolia Grove.
