Colonels Host Jacksonville For ASUN Series

RICHMOND, Ky. – EKU softball (17-17, 1-8 ASUN) resumes ASUN play with a home series against Jacksonville (18-17, 4-5 ASUN) on Thursday and Friday at Gertrude Hood Field.
 
EKU and JU will play a doubleheader on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. ET. The series finale will be on Friday at 12:00 p.m. ET. All three games this weekend will be available on ESPN+.
 
The Colonels are coming a series loss at North Alabama and midweek win at Northern Kentucky. EKU is playing at home for the first time in eight games. 
 
Junior Maggie Pertee leads EKU offense with a .345 batting average. The Uniontown, Ohio, native also leads the Colonels with 70 total bases and 11 stolen bases in 12 attempts.
 
Senior Jasmine Miller continues to give pitchers problems with a team-leading .457 on-base percentage. Miller has drawn 24 walks this season and has tallied 11 extra-base hits. 
 
Sophomore Brooke Davis boasts a 3.31 ERA and is holding opponents to a .243 batting average this season. She leads the pitching staff with three save in 10 bullpen appearances. 
 
Scouting Jacksonville
Jacksonville owns an 18-17 overall record and a 4-5 mark in ASUN play. The Dolphins' last ASUN series was a sweep at the hands of Central Arkansas. JU beat Florida A&M on Tuesday, 6-5. 
 
Madison Reynolds is Jacksonville's most dangerous hitter, leading the squad with eight doubles, 19 RBI, and a .323 batting average. Tatianna Davis is JU's other regular hitting over .300, boasting a .311 average with a team-high three triples. 
 
In the circle, Emma Whitfield leads Jacksonville 96.2 innings pitched and a 3.54 ERA. Ashlee Harwood has held teams to a .208 average in her 20 appearances.
