DELAND, Fla. – Eastern Kentucky University's baseball team lost to Jacksonville State University, 9-3, in the Colonels' final ASUN Conference Tournament game Thursday at Conrad Park.

Bear Madliak led off the game with a home run for the Gamecocks and JSU (27-28) never trailed. Carson Crowe added a two-out, two-run single in the third to push the lead to 3-0.  A three-run home run from Javon Hernandez in the fourth allowed Jacksonville State to double its lead.

EKU got on the board in the seventh.Â
Charlie Ludwick and
DJ Sullivan started the inning with consecutive walks. Ludwick came home on a JSU error on a ball hit by
Roderick Criss II down the left field line. Sullivan scored on a ground out and Criss crossed home plate on a sacrifice fly by
Michael Goehrig to make it 7-3.

Jalen Jones finished 2-for-4 with a RBI.Â
Matthew Corlew,
Logan Thomason and
Miguel Larreal had one hit each for the Colonels (29-30). Hernandez had a 2-for-4 day with a run and four RBIs for the Gamecocks.
