OXFORD, Ohio – The Eastern Kentucky University soccer team concluded the non-conference slate with a 1-0 road loss to Miami (Ohio) on Sunday afternoon at Bobby Kramig Field.
With the defeat, the Colonels move to 1-5-1 and prepare to shift their focus to ASUN Conference action beginning on Thursday.
Sunday's match was highlighted by junior keeper
Marah Krick, who recorded four saves on 15 shots faced.
EKU went 88 minutes without attempting a shot against the Redhawks, ending the day with two shot attempts in the final two minutes of play. Midfielders
Kaitlyn Rowlett and
Chiara Premoli totaled both of the team's attempts.
Senior
Allison Vaughn made her first appearance of the season in the loss, logging six minutes as a substitute. Junior forward
Jami Anderson made her first Division I start in the match playing 55 minutes up top.
Miami led the contest in shots (15-2), shots on goal (5-0), corners (5-2), and possession (52 percent).
