Colonels Continue ASUN Play Against Austin Peay at Home

RICHMOND, Ky. – EKU soccer (1-6-1, 0-1-0 ASUN) prepares to host Austin Peay (3-5-1, 1-0-0 ASUN) for its ASUN Conference home opener on Sunday, Sept. 17 at the EKU Soccer Field.
 
Sunday's match is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start time and is Youth Sports Day at the pitch, admission is free for the duration of the 2023 season.
 
Fans not able to be in attendance can find the stream on ESPN+ with Greg Stotelmyer and Wes Chandler on the call.
 
The Colonels are coming off a 1-0 loss at Lipscomb as the league opened play on Thursday. EKU attempted five shots in the contest and led the match in saves and corner attempts.
 
Through eight games, EKU has picked up four points with a win over Eastern Michigan (2-1) and played to a draw against Belmont (1-1), both at home.
 
EKU is seeking its first goal in three matches on Sunday, freshman Ruby Dunlevy continues to lead the program with two goals and five shots on frame, her last tally was at DePaul on Aug. 31.
 
Sunday's match is the 18th meeting between the two long-time conference rivals, Austin Peay currently edges the all-time series 8-6-3 with a +1 goal differential (23-22).
 
The Colonels claimed the last meeting in the series last year by a score of 3-2 in Richmond, all of EKU's goals against APSU were all recorded within the first 18 minutes of play – which set a program record for a single match.
 
Austin Peay enters play with a win over Bellarmine (2-1) at home to open conference play. The Govs are 0-4-1 in true road contests this season.
 
Freshman forward Aniyah Mack leads the team with four goals and has converted 11-of-17 of her shots on frame. She went 5-for-5 in shots on goal in the team's last match against the Knights.
