Nations Named UAC Special Teams Player of the Week

ARLINGTON, TEXAS – Kicker Patrick Nations of Eastern Kentucky University was named the United Athletic Conference's Special Teams Player of the Week, as announced by the league on Monday afternoon.

The South Carolina native's selection comes after he converted two field goals, and one point-after against Southern Utah while also producing five touchbacks.

The two field goals were from 34 and 47 yards with the second marking the 50th of Nations' career breaking EKU's program record for field goals made in a career.

The record of 49 was previously set by Dale Dawson (1983-86) and Taylor Long (2005-08).

Nations is also only nine points away from breaking the program record of kicking points in a career set by Long at 285.

A redshirt senior, Nations is the first Colonel to earn a player of the week honor this season, with the selection being his third all-time.

EKU returns to action this Saturday at 4 p.m. ET facing UAC foe Abilene Christian on the road.
