CARROLLTON, Ga. – Balance throughout the lineup led Eastern Kentucky University to a 3-0 win at West Georgia on Sunday. It was EKU's fourth straight win and completed a successful 2-match Atlantic Sun Conference road trip.

The Colonels won by scores of 25-21, 25-17 and 25-15.

Five players had six or more kills for EKU (14-7, 5-3 ASUN). In addition, five players had at least one ace, three players had eight or more digs and two had three blocks.

AG Vandagriff led all players with 12 kills. She made only four errors in 20 attempts for a .400 attack percentage.Â
Sarah Mitchell added 11 kills and eight digs.Â
Paige Wagers contributed eight kills and three blocks. Setter
Emilee Hill posted seven kills, 25 assists, 11 digs and three blocks. Freshman
Isa Blackwell finished with a match-best five aces.

EKU scored the first three points of the opening set and led 4-1 after a kill from
Carson Ledford. However the Wolves steadied the ship and came back to lead for much of the first. Sanai Young's ace gave UWG its first lead at 10-9. A Colonel attack error handed West Georgia a 3-point advantage, 16-13. After the home team took a 21-19 lead off a kill from Rylee Henderson, the Colonels ended the set on a 6-0 run. Blackwell tied it with an ace. Hill finished it off, 25-21, with a kill.

Hill's kill gave EKU its first lead of the second set at 6-5. The Wolves built a 2-point edge, 15-13, midway through the match on an attack error. A 5-0 run by the visitors turned the tide. Ledford capped it with an ace for an 18-15 lead. The Colonels were still up three, 20-17, after a bad set gave UWG a point. However, West Georgia didn't score again. Another five unanswered, finished off by Mitchell's kill, gave EKU a 25-17 win and a 2-0 lead.

Kills by Vandagriff, Hill and Ledford staked the Colonels to a 3-0 lead in the third and their team never trailed. Another kill from Vandagriff made it 7-3.Â
Josie Schmitendorf's ace pushed the lead to six, 11-6. EKU was the first to 15 as Vandagriff's kill made it 15-9. Three straight stretched it to a 7-point margin at 19-12. Ledford and Hill finished off the set, 25-15, and the match with a block.

The Colonels totaled 11 aces and just four service errors. The maroon and white combined for 46 kills and a .286 attack percentage while holding the Wolves to 25 kills and a .141 hitting percentage.

Henderson finished with a team-high six kills for West Georgia (9-11, 2-6 ASUN).

EKU returns home to host Jacksonville on Friday at 6 p.m. at the Rick Erdmann Olympic Sports Training Center. A pair of Homecoming weekend home matches concludes on Sunday against North Florida at 11 a.m.
