EKU Soccer Falls in Atlantic Sun Conference Championship

Third Conference Championship Appearance Since 2005

FORT MYERS, Fla. – The Eastern Kentucky University women's soccer team ends its historic 2024 season in the Atlantic Sun Conference Championship match, falling by a narrow score of 1-0 on Sunday afternoon against No. 3 seed Lipscomb.

The Bisons will move on to the 2024 NCAA College Cup and await their placement in the field, which is set to be announced during the NCAA Selection Show at 3 p.m. ET.

EKU ends the season with a 12-8-3 overall record and 7-3-1 mark in ASUN play.  The Colonels' 12 wins were their most since 2016 and was just the third time since 2005 the program has reached their conference championship game.

Marah Krick, Chiara Premoli, and Rachel Robinson were named to the ASUN All-Tournament Team following Sunday's loss.  Krick recorded 17 saves across four games in the 2024 ASUN Tournament with two wins and an advancement off a 5-4 decision in penalty kicks.

EKU logged six shots against Lipscomb, including a team-leading three attempts from Ella Grode and two from Ana Manning. Krick ended with three saves on 60 minutes of action, she returned to the lineup after suffering a lower leg injury early in the first half.

The Colonels conceded Lipscomb's lone goal in the 7th minute as Tatum Ahlemeyer sent a high-lofted ball from over 30 yards out that fell just below the crossbar and away from Krick's gloves.

EKU had two shots on goal in the second period, including an opportunity to equalize in the 84th from Grode, but were unable to find its chance to end the conference title match with a 1-0 loss.
