RICHMOND, Ky. – Former Eastern Kentucky University men's basketball player John Ukomadu is playing in the NBA G League with the Motor City Cruise.
 
The Southfield, Michigan native has played in four games with the team.  He is averaging 4.0 points, 2.0 rebounds and 0.5 blocks while playing an average of 10.2 minutes per game.
 
Ukomadu has seen more court time in the team's last two games.  On Dec. 1, he had a season-best 14 points and six rebounds in 20 minutes of action.  The 6-foot-7, 195-pound forward went 6-of-9 from the field, blocked two shots and had a steal against the Sioux Falls Skyforce.  On Thursday, Ukomadu finished with eight points , two rebounds and a block in a win over the Cleveland Charge.
 
The Cruise are 6-4 overall this season and third in the Central Division.  Motor City's next game is Wednesday at the Wisconsin Herd.
 
Ukomadu played two seasons at EKU, wrapping up his collegiate career last season by finishing second in the College Slam Dunk Championship.  He appeared in 30 games for the Colonels in 2023-24 and averaged 5.3 points, 4.4 rebounds and 0.8 blocks per game.
 
EKU will return to action on Wednesday at Pittsburgh.  Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET.
