RICHMOND, Ky. – Riding a 2-game winning streak, Eastern Kentucky University will host undefeated and No. 4 ranked mid-major Miami (Ohio) on Saturday at Baptist Health Arena.

The first 250 fans will receive a free EKU snowflake ornament. Fans who wear their best holiday sweater can enter a contest to win $20 gift cards from Apollo Pizza. There will also be a photo booth and a halftime teddy bear toss. Fans are encouraged to bring a stuffed animal or teddy bear to toss. All bears will be donated to the Toys for Tots program of Madison County.
THE COLONELS
- EKU (3-7) beat Eastern Illinois, 68-59, on Wednesday for its second straight win.

Turner Buttry finished with 14 points and three assists in the win over EIU. He hit 3-of-4 from the field, and from 3-point range, in addition to going 5-for-6 at the free throw line.

Montavious Myrick had six points, nine rebounds, four assists and three steals against Eastern Illinois. He has seven steals in the last two games.
- EKU has out-rebounded four of its last five opponents, including a 37-30 edge against EIU.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
- Miami is 9-0 this season, one of only eight teams in the nation that are still undefeated. The RedHawks have scored 90 or more points in each of their past three games, including a 90-87 overtime victory at UNC Asheville on Wednesday.
- The RedHawks are averaging 94.8 points and out-scoring their opponents by 25.8 points per game. Miami has shot 53% from the field and 40% from 3-point range. MU has out-rebounded its opponents by 8.0 boards per game and has committed 4.2 fewer turnovers.
- Evan Ipsaro leads the team in scoring at 16.1 points per game. The 6-foot junior guard has shot 62% from the field and 46% (13-for-28) from 3-point range. He had 27 points on 10-of-16 shooting from the field in the win at UNC Asheville.
- Former Bellarmine player Peter Suder is second on the team in scoring (12.9 ppg) and second in assists (3.8 apg). The 6-foot-5 senior guard suited up for the Knights for two seasons (2022-23 and 2023-24) before transferring to Miami. Last season he was a first team All-Mid-American Conference selection. In four games against EKU he has averaged 8.0 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.5 assists while shooting 35% from the field.

- Miami holds an 11-6 advantage in the all-time series. The first-ever meeting was on Dec. 19, 1929. The Colonels are 4-6 against Miami in games played in Richmond.
- The two teams have not met since the RedHawks picked up a 91-40 win on Dec. 10, 1996 in Oxford.
