EKU (11-10, 7-1 ASUN) scored the first five points of the game and went up seven, 10-3, on a dunk from Isaiah Cozart.  A 13-2 run by Queens allowed the Royals to turn a 5-point deficit into a 6-point lead.  Lay-ups from Bryce Cash and Deyton Albury capped the run and had the home team on top 20-14 with 11:10 on the clock.

The Colonels closed to within one, 35-34, on a lay-up from Devontae Blanton and John Ukomadu's put-back with 1:56 remaining in the opening half.  However, Queens closed the first with a 7-2 run and led by six, 42-36, at the break.
