MUNCIE, Ind. – The Eastern Kentucky University men's tennis team (13-3, 0-0 ASUN) owns its best record to start the season since 1965 with a 5-2 win against Ball State (5-4, 0-0 MAC) on Sunday at the Cardinal Creek Tennis Center. The Colonels have won 11 straight matches.
To begin the dual match,
Fernando Bulnes and
Evzen Holis won their doubles match from the No. 1 court on a tiebreak, 7-6 (7-3).
Moritz Mayer and
Mario Monclus Martin also earned the victory on a tiebreak from the No. 2 spot, 7-6 (7-5), as EKU won the doubles point.
In singles play, Holis earned a straight-set victory from the top court, 6-2, 6-4.
Bulnes won his singles match from the No. 3 position in straight sets, 7-5, 6-2.
Paul-Antoine Brazet won his eighth straight singles match from the No. 5 spot in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4.
Kristoffer Stahlbrand earned another point for the Colonels, winning his singles match in straight sets from the No. 6 court, 6-3, 6-4.
