Box Score

CONWAY, Ark. –
Lexington, Kentucky native Max Williams hit a 2-run home run in the eighth inning to break a 3-3 tie and send the Colonels to a 5-3 win over Central Arkansas in the series finale on Sunday.

EKU won the Atlantic Sun Conference series 2-1.

The Colonels (4-16, 2-1 ASUN) were down 3-2 when DJ Sullivan led off the seventh inning with a solo shot to tie it up.  In the eighth, Conner Davis singled to left with one out.  Williams came up next, and on a 2-1 count sent his fourth homer of the season sailing over the wall in right field.

Garrett Langrell picked up the win after pitching the final 2 1/3 innings without allowing a run.  He gave up two hits, walked one and struck out one.  The trio of Langrell, Quinton Hall and Joe Clancy combined for four innings of scoreless relief work.

EKU took a 2-1 lead in the third.  Sullivan started the inning with a single and then Ron Franklin Jr. followed with a 2-run home run over the wall in left field.  It was his second of the series and third of the season.

Central Arkansas (8-12, 1-2 ASUN) snatched the lead back in the bottom half of the third inning.  The Bears scored two unearned runs, one on a fielding error and one on a sacrifice bunt.  The Colonels didn't allow another run the rest of the game.
