FORT COLLINS, Colo. – The Eastern Kentucky University women's basketball team will take its talents on the road for the 2024 Women's National Invitational Tournament (WNIT) and will face Purdue Fort Wayne on Wednesday, March 20 at 7:00 p.m. EST inside the Gates Sports Center.
EKU (22-11, 9-7 ASUN) will be appearing it its fifth national postseason tournament in program history on Wednesday, first since 2013.

EKU and Purdue Fort Wayne (21-12, 13-7 Horizon) last met in 2016 at the Wright State Invitational in Dayton, Ohio. The Colonels suffered a 68-59 loss in the second round; however, the all-time series is split at one win apiece.
Similar to EKU's 68-57 loss to Central Arkansas in the Atlantic Sun Conference semifinals, Purdue Fort Wayne suffered a defeat in its second game of the 2024 Barbasol Horizon League Championship by a score of 64-55 to Green Bay.
The Mastodons are led by senior guard Amellia Bromenschenkel who has a team-high 13.3 points per game while shooting 45 percent from the floor.
EKU is led by First Team All-ASUN selection
Antwainette Walker, who's averaging 18.2 points per game – second in the ASUN Conference. Walker has scored 20 or more points in three of her last five games, including 39 points over two games in the ASUN Championship, earning her a spot on the ASUN All-Tournament team.
EKU is 1-1 all-time in the WNIT, making its first appearance since 2002 when the team advanced to Round 2 after defeating Missouri State 72-65 in overtime on the road.
With a win over PFW in Round 1, EKU would advance to Round 2 and face Cincinnati on the road at Fifth Third Arena in the Queen City.
