RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University men's tennis team (17-4, 2-0 ASUN) plays for first place in the Atlantic Sun Conference against Queens (9-5, 2-0 ASUN) on Sunday at 10:00 a.m. at the Greg Adams Tennis Center.
THE COLONELS
The Colonels enter the match with a 17-4 record, coming back from a 3-0 deficit to beat Bellarmine by a score of 4-3 on March 18. The Maroon and White also won against Austin Peay in ASUN Conference play. The Colonels own a 13-0 record at home this season, which is tied with No. 9 Tennessee for the best home record in the country. EKU won 12 straight matches from Jan. 31 to March 2, which is tied for the longest winning streak in program history.

Moritz Mayer, who boasts a 14-6 mark in singles play this season. He beat Georgia's Miguel Perez Pena in singles play on Jan. 22, who was the No. 43 singles player in the country, as it was the highest-ranked singles win in program history. The Eutingen, Germany product won the ASUN Men's Tennis Player of the Week twice. Mayer leads the team and the ASUN in singles wins.
Evzen Holis won the ASUN Men's Tennis Player of the Week three times this season, as he has a 13-5 record in singles from the top two courts. Holis led EKU's comeback against Bellarmine, as he came back from a 5-1 deficit in the third set to win his singles match against Jack Batchelor on March 18.
Paul-Antoine Brazet also has 13 singles wins, clinching the match for the Colonels against Bellarmine.
Kristoffer Stahlbrand won five straight singles matches. EKU has a 75-48 mark in singles play as a team this season.
Fernando Bulnes and Holis are the leading pair in doubles, as they have a 9-5 mark from the top two spots in the lineup. Holis, Mayer, and Stahlbrand are tied for a team-high 10 wins in doubles. The Colonels have earned the doubles point in 13 out of their last 16 matches. EKU boasts a 31-15 record in doubles this season.
SCOUTING QUEENS
Queens enters the contest with a 9-5 mark, sweeping a doubleheader against Belmont Abbey College on March 20. The Royals also beat Austin Peay and Bellarmine in ASUN Conference play. Queens is led by Ram Mude in singles play, posting a 10-3 record. Win Steveker leads the Royals with nine doubles wins. This is the first matchup in the all-time series between EKU and Queens.
