Colonels Drop Road Contest to No. 25 Kentucky

Box Score

LEXINGTON, Ky. –
Eastern Kentucky University's baseball team fell to No. 25 Kentucky on the road on Tuesday evening, 10-0.

The Colonels were unable to muster much offensively recording only two hits.

UK's offense broke open in the third with five runs, before ending the game in the seventh inning via run-rule.

HOW IT HAPPENED

EKU threatened to open the scoring in the second as Max Williams doubled to center to begin the inning but was left stranded after UK recorded three straight outs.

The Wildcats broke the game open an inning later with five total runs, the first three via a three-run home run to left field.

Two batters later, a double followed by a triple, and wild pitch saw two more Cats come across to score.

Kentucky's bats stayed hot in the fourth, working the bases loaded via two walks and a single with no outs.

From there UK pushed three more runs across one coming by a walk and then a two run double to right center, taking the lead to eight through four.

The Wildcats then added another run with a solo home run in the fifth going up, 9-0.

UK's tenth and final run came in the seventh via a Colonel error ending the game by run-rule at 10-0.
