RICHMOND, Ky. – Eastern Kentucky University Director of Track and Field and Cross Country Cory Erdmann announces that his outdoor track and field schedule will feature 14 meets. The EKU men are coming off a second-place finish at the ASUN Indoor Track and Field Championships. The teams combined to earn 14 medals at the conference meet.
 
In the 2023 season, EKU earned 11 medals at the ASUN Outdoor Track and Field Championships and seven Colonels competed at the NCAA East Preliminary. Hakim Abouzouhir (steeplechase), Pedro Garcia-Palencia (steeplechase), Ahmed Kadri (800 meters and steeplechase), and Joshua Moore (high jump) were named All-Americans during the 2023 outdoor season.
 
The Colonels will host the EKU Spring Meet to kick off their outdoor season on March 22.
 
EKU will have a split weekend, competing at the Raleigh Relays (March 28-29) hosted by NC State, the Kennesaw State Invitational (March 29), and the Stanford Invitational (March 29-30).
 
Then, the Maroon and White will travel down I-75 for the Tennessee Invitational in Knoxville on April 5-6.
 
Erdmann and company will compete at the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, Calif. on April 12-13 and the Gary Wieneke Invitational hosted by Illinois on April 13.
 
The Colonels will have another split weekend at the Wake Forest Invitational on April 19 and the Jim Green Invitational hosted by Kentucky on April 19-20.
 
EKU will host the annual Rick Erdmann Twilight on April 26.
 
To conclude the regular season, the Maroon and White will compete at the Billy Hayes Invitational hosted by Indiana on May 4.
 
The ASUN Outdoor Track and Field Championships is hosted by Central Arkansas on May 9-11.
 
The NCAA East Preliminary is set to take place on May 22-25 in Lexington and the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships will be on June 5-8 in Eugene, Ore.
