PALO ALTO, Calif. – After a 20-win season and a trip to the Atlantic Sun Conference Championship, the Eastern Kentucky University men's tennis team (20-9, 5-4 ASUN) will play in the UTR Sports NIT Championship for the first time in program history, announced on Tuesday.
The UTR Sports NIT Championship will take place at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. on May 5-8. Fans can watch the Colonels at the tournament on Amazon Prime Video. Information about the tournament can be found

The quarterfinals for the UTR Sports NIT Championship will start on May 5. The opponent is TBD.
The Maroon and White will be appearing in its first national postseason tournament since 2015 when the program played against No. 5 Texas A&M in the NCAA Tournament. This week's postseason announcement marks EKU's fifth national postseason tournament in program history (4 NCAA Tournament).
The Colonels finished the 2024 ASUN Conference Championship on April 19, falling 4-0 against Stetson.
EKU continues its historic season with 20 wins, which is the second-most in program history. The Maroon and White have a 16-win increase from 2023, which is the biggest win increase in program history. The Colonels boast a 16-0 home record this season, which is the best home record in the nation. EKU was ranked as high as No. 74 in the country, marking the first ITA team ranking in program history. The Maroon and White beat No. 68 Stetson by a score of 5-2 on April 5, marking the first win against a ranked opponent in school history. The Colonels enjoyed a 12-match winning streak from Jan. 31 to March 2, tying the program's longest winning streak.
Evzen Holis was selected to First Team All-ASUN, boasting a 16-10 singles record from the top two spots in the lineup.
EKU joins Liberty, ASUN foe North Alabama, Northwestern, Pacific, Santa Carla, St. Louis, and Tulsa in the eight-team tournament field.
